Part-Time; Non-Exempt (Not Benefit Eligible)

HOURS:

20 Hours a Week: 12 Month,   School Calendar and Hours of Operation

 

Overview:

The Accounting Assistant will provide support to the Business Office by performing a variety of accounting related responsibilities. This position requires critical thinking with a high level of attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently. Maintaining confidentiality and exercising discretion in handling sensitive financial information while working collaboratively within a team environment are essential.


Job Requirements & Qualifications:

  •  Possess a strong Christian faith with a solid knowledge of the Bible, a growing personal relationship with Jesus Christ, and a demonstrated character of integrity. Believe and actively support the school’s Statement of Faith and Guiding Principles.
  • Receive and process all incoming payments to LCA (accounts receivable). This includes processing square payments, tracking of payments for special events, sports fees, extracurricular summer camps, and clubs payments.
  • Invoice and collect rental revenue.
  • Maintains department records for compliance.
  • Provide support for Legacy’s annual audit by providing documentation.
  • Interpret and apply accounting policies, rules, and regulations to ensure compliance with applicable standards.
  • Purchasing.

Education and Experience:

  • Associate’s Degree in Business/Accounting or related degree.
  • Prior work experience in an administrative accounting role requiring extreme attention to detail, organization skills, and the ability to prioritize in a fast paced environment.
  • Previous work experience in an academic or other non-profit a plus.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Prior experience in general accounting
  • Solid knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organization and planning skills.
  • Team player, self-motivated, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of all financial information.

Technical Skills:

  • Solid working knowledge of accounting software and running reports (e.g. Quickbooks, Blackbaud, Microsoft Office, and Google applications)

  • Hearing and speaking to exchange information
  • Seeing to read and verify accuracy of information
  • Standing and walking for extended periods of time
  • Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate computer and other equipment
