Position Overview:
Fennville Community Recreation is seeking a knowledgeable and engaging Yoga Instructor to lead
classes that support strength, flexibility, balance, and mindfulness. The ideal candidate creates a
welcoming, inclusive environment where participants feel comfortable at all levels, from beginners
to more experienced yogis.
Qualifications
• Current yoga certification (200-
hour RYT or equivalent
preferred)
• Experience teaching Yoga
classes preferred
• Strong understanding of
anatomy, alignment, and
movement principles
• Excellent communication and
interpersonal skills
• Ability to motivate and engage
participants of all fitness levels
• CPR/First Aid certification
(preferred or willingness to
obtain)
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead group Yoga classes for
participants of varying experience
levels
• Design and guide safe, effective
sequences that promote strength,
flexibility, and relaxation
• Provide clear instruction, cues,
and modifications as needed
• Ensure proper form, alignment,
and technique to prevent injury
• Create a positive, inclusive, and
encouraging class environment
• Communicate effectively with
participants and program staff
• Arrive prepared and on time for
scheduled classes
• Maintain awareness of equipment
and space usage within school
facilities

Preferred Skills:
• Experience teaching in community recreation, studio, or wellness settings
• Knowledge of multiple yoga styles (e.g., Hatha, Vinyasa, restorative)
• Background in fitness, dance, physical education, or related field
• Ability to modify exercises for different abilities and needs
