Position Duties
Experienced psychiatric nurse/case managers to work with consumers who experience significant mental health conditions in a fast paced community mental health center. The person filling this position should be skilled in nursing assessment and supervision of clients using medication, triage plus limited case management. The candidate must keep good clinical/computer records and function as part of an interdisciplinary treatment team.
- Under physician’s orders, administer and monitor medication; assess client reaction to medications; chart reaction to medication and recommend medication changes.
- Provide skilled nursing assessment and supervision of clients using therapeutic drugs as part of their treatment program.
- Participate as a member of an inter-disciplinary treatment team in the evaluation of client's mental health needs, the development of client treatment plans and the delivery of mental health services.
- Respond to mental health emergencies on rotation with clinic staff.
- Develop and maintain effective, harmonious, and reasonable work relationships with others.
- Maintain regular and predictable work attendance.
Minimum Qualifications
Graduation from a four-year accredited college or university with a degree in nursing and some coursework in psychiatric nursing, and one year mental health nursing work experience; or any satisfactory equivalent combination of experience, education and training which demonstrates the ability to perform the work described. Possession of a current Oregon license to practice as a registered nurse.
Must be able to pass a criminal history check and possess or obtain a valid Oregon driver's license with an acceptable driving record that meets the County's requirements.
