    The SouthWest Metro Intermediate District #288 has an immediate full-time opening for a Behavior Specialist to provide district-wide support for the 2026-2027 school year.

    Description:
    Behavior Specialist, 185 Contract Days, 8 hours a day

    Job Summary:

    • Facilitate and coach teams through the development and implementation of functional behavior assessments/behavior interventions, plans and crisis plans for identified students;
    • Provide social skills instruction to students utilizing research-based methodologies and approved district curricula.
    • Implement and coach school personnel on research-based methods of classroom management and behavioral strategies;
    • Collaborate with school personnel, agencies, and families in coordinating individualized ESE services for Students;
    • Complete all reporting requirements as mandated by the district, state, federal, and educational agencies (i.e. restraint and seclusion, assessments, behavioral data);
    • Conduct Functional Behavior Assessments;
    • Support teams in writing Behavior Intervention Plans;
    • Participate in the development of Individualized Educational Programs for students;
    • Collect and summarize behavioral data;
    • Assist with student crisis intervention;
    • Perform other duties as assigned;

    Qualifications:

    • Must have a valid MN teaching license
    • Able to travel between sites
    • Strong teamwork, communication and report writing skills


    Pay & Benefits: 
    The pay range for this position is $56,000-103,000 based on education and experience (pay is prorated based on FTE). Competitive and comprehensive benefit package is available:
