Position Summary:
We are seeking a compassionate, strategic, and experienced Clinical Director to oversee the therapeutic and counseling functions of a residential substance use treatment program. The ideal candidate will be a confident clinical leader who can mentor and inspire a team while managing operations with attention to compliance, quality, and patient-centered care. The role requires someone who is emotionally intelligent, composed under pressure, and committed to empowering both staff and patients.
Key Responsibilities:

Oversee all clinical and counseling services within the residential treatment program

Supervise and support a team of individual and group therapists

Provide regular clinical supervision to licensed and pre-licensed staff

Review and update clinical treatment protocols to ensure compliance with federal, state, and Joint Commission standards

Oversee and enhance family programming to foster family engagement in recovery

Coordinate enrichment, wellness, and spiritual programming that supports treatment plans

Schedule and oversee guest lecturers, outside speakers, and other clinical programming contributors

Review biopsychosocial assessments and individualized treatment plans

Participate in weekly treatment team meetings to evaluate patient progress and adjust treatment as needed

Provide individual and group therapy sessions as needed based on staffing

Serve in a leadership rotation as “Manager on Call” as assigned

Hire, train, supervise, and evaluate clinical staff performance

Collaborate with all levels of staff and management to ensure consistent, high-quality patient care

Perform additional duties as assigned by the Executive Director
Qualifications:

Master’s degree or higher in Psychology, Counseling, Social Work, or a related field

Active and unrestricted independent licensure in counseling, social work, or mental health (e.g., LCSW, LPC, LMFT)

Minimum 2 years of experience in a clinical management or supervisory role

Familiarity with Joint Commission standards and accreditation process preferred

Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)

Excellent communication, leadership, and conflict resolution skills

Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
