The Babcock & Wilcox Company (B&W) is a leader in energy and environmental products and services for power and industrial markets worldwide. Our headquarters in Akron, Ohio is currently seeking an Intern/Co-op to join our Information Technology (IT) team. The internship will provide an educational, hands-on experience to students pursuing careers in IT under the guidance of the Sr. Engineering and PLM Solution Architect Manager.
This is a Summer 2026 intern/co-op position. The selected candidate must commit to working full-time (40 hours/week) during the summer.
Generate reports based on data stored within SharePoint lists via Excel, PowerBI, or other tools.
Investigate tools that can be used to create a dashboard based on SharePoint data.
Present findings about these tools to interested members of the company.
Assisting the development manager with all aspects of software design and coding.
Ability to work under direction and cooperatively in a virtual environment.
Learning the codebase and improving your coding skills.
Writing and maintaining code.
Working on minor bug fixes.
Responding to requests from the development team.
Gathering information from consumers about program functionality.
Conducting development tests
Seeking a degree in Computer Science or a related field to Information Technology.
Basic programming experience.
Knowledge of basic coding languages including C#/Java/Python.
Basic understanding of HTML5, and JavaScript.
Good working knowledge of email systems and the Microsoft Office suite.
Ability to demonstrate how to query and write data to a relational database.
Ability to provide an example of software written in the programming language of candidate's choice.
Ability to learn new software and technologies quickly.
Ability to follow instructions and work in a team environment.
Knowledge of Power Automate Flows.
Enhance and resolve defects in existing PowerApps connected to SharePoint.
Working experience in VBA Excel Macro.
Knowledge of Web-Service and Service Oriented Architecture.
Basic understanding of Cloud platforms (AWS or Azure).
