Job Description
Overview:

AMERICAN SYSTEMS is an employee-owned federal government contractor supporting national priority programs through our strategic solutions in the areas of Information Technology, Test & Evaluation, Program Mission Support, Engineering & Analysis, and Training.



Responsibilities:
  • The W37 Machine Shop manufactures prototypes and test apparatus hardware supporting Joint, Interservice and service-specific experiments, assessments and demonstrations.
  • The Engineering Technician will support all aspects of the manufacturing process including design for manufacturability analysis and administrative record keeping.
  • Responsibilities include:
    • Setting up and operating a variety of machine tools to produce precision parts and instruments
    • Working closely with engineers and designers to bring new concepts to life
    • Fabricating, modifying, and repairing prototype components.
  • This role requires a high degree of precision, attention to detail, and the ability to interpret a technical data package (Drawings, CAD Models, sketches).


Qualifications:
  • A minimum of a current SECRET Clearance is required
  • A minimum of 5 years of manufacturing training or similar industrial experience.

Experience in:

  • Setting up and operating both CNC and manual machine tools, including lathes, mills, laser etchers, waterjets and EDM machines, to produce high-quality prototype parts.
  • Fabricating, modifying, and assembling prototype components from a variety of materials, including metals (aluminum, steel, titanium) and plastics.
  • Performing in-process and final inspections using precision measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, CMM) to ensure parts meet strict tolerance and quality standards.
  • Working directly with the engineering and design teams to provide feedback on part manufacturability, suggest design improvements, and troubleshoot issues.
  • Ability to lift 50lbs


Pay Transparency Statement:
AMERICAN SYSTEMS is committed to pay transparency for our applicants and employee-owners. The salary range for this position is USD $77,600.00/Yr. - USD $129,600.00/Yr. Actual compensation will be determined based on several factors permitted by law.
