The DSD Shipping Clerk II makes an impact by –
- Print and dispense invoices/manifests and trip delivery paperwork to the route drivers
- Verify all routes show assigned equipment in OT1 system upon completion of the route
- Troubleshoot issues with Assistics
- Communicate delivery specifics with drivers prior to dispatch
- Assist with Shipping Office as needed
- Ensure all DSD routes are ship-confirmed accurately and on time in Assistics prior to driver departure
- Audit route paperwork (manifests, Bill of Ladings, invoices) for accuracy and completeness
- Monitor route readiness and proactively communicate delays, shortages, or equipment issues
- Coordinate with Transportation and Warehouse leadership to support schedule changes and service recovery
- Serve as first point of contact for drivers regarding route documentation or system issues at dispatch
- Track and escalate recurring system, documentation, or route configuration issues
- Maintain organized records of shipping documentation in accordance with retention requirements
- Support peak volumes, holiday schedules, and special route configurations as needed
- Crosstrain with other Shipping Office or DSD administrative functions to provide coverage
- Must be able to flex to a modified schedule as business dictates
- Perform all duties within established Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) and FSMA guidelines as well as all safety regulations
- Comply with Safe Quality Foods (SQF) food safety and quality standards
- Perform all other duties as assigned

- Minimum of one (1) year in a customer service, call center, or related industry
- Strong communication skills (written and oral)

Physical Demands -

- The employee is required to talk and/or hear in an office setting (noise level is low) and manufacturing setting where noise levels can be high (PPE required).
- The employee is frequently required to stand and walk in an office or manufacturing environment from 4-8+ hours.
- The employee must be able to ascend and descend stairs, and where applicable and when necessary, to perform various job-related tasks.
- Must be able to position self to move, reach with arms/hands, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl as needed to perform various job-related tasks.
- The employee must be able to inspect all job-related equipment (office or floor) to ensure it is in good working condition prior to use. Must be able to use hands/fingers to handle (or feel) to operate various types of office equipment.
- Must be able to operate all job-related equipment (powered, hand or office) as required.
- Vision requirements: close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception and adjust focus.
- Ability to lift 20 pounds and/or push/pull 20 pounds on a regular or occasional basis.
- Must have ability to travel to clients, customers, or other work sites by a variety of transportation methods.
