Journeyman Diesel Mechanic – West Chicago, IL

Premier Service is a family-owned landscape construction and maintenance company proudly serving the Chicagoland area since the late 1980s. We are seeking an experienced Journeyman Diesel Mechanic to join our growing in-house shop and support our expanding fleet.

Position Summary

This role is responsible for performing diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs on company trucks, trailers, and heavy equipment to ensure safe operation and minimal downtime for our crews.

Key Responsibilities

Diagnose and repair mechanical issues on trucks and equipment
Perform routine maintenance and preventative services
Complete repair orders and accurately document all work performed
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe shop environment
Follow all company safety policies and procedures

You will work on a diverse fleet, including:

Kenworth T-800
Kenworth T-270
Ford F-750
Ford F-350
Chevrolet LCF
Isuzu NPR / NRR
Front-end loaders
Bobcat skid steers
Tractor trailers
Light-duty trucks and SUVs

Qualifications

5+ years of mechanic experience
Journeyman-level mechanic
ASE certification preferred
CDL-A preferred (not required)
Ability to pass background and MVR checks
No DUI or drug convictions within the last 5 years
Must provide basic hand tools
Ability to lift 75+ lbs
