Job Description

The successful candidate will have a background in outpatient clinic operations. He or she will be goal oriented and have experience understanding hospital systems, leadership roles and be focused on the success of the clinic related to excellent patient care and outcomes.

As the Clinical Manager you will be responsible for oversight of the clinical operations of the Wound and Hyperbaric Institute. You'll oversee clinical operations, staffing, and training and act as liaison with physicians, hospital personnel and departments reporting to the Clinic Director and designated hospital leadership.


The Clinical Director coordinates the total nursing care for patients while utilizing advanced modalities, participates in patient and family teaching, and provides leadership by working cooperatively with ancillary departments and other patient team personnel in maintaining standards for professional nursing practice in the clinical setting.


PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Under the direction of the Institute Director, oversees, manages, trains and assists clinical staff in providing quality patient care.
  • Directs and evaluates nursing care provided to patient in the Wound Healing Institute.
  • Works with Safety Director to meet patient needs during the course of hyperbaric oxygen treatments.
  • Develops and implements education programs for physicians and staff regarding wound care.
  • Provides Institute Director with required operational reports.
  • Contributes to the evaluation process and assists Institute Director with updating/ maintaining employee files.
  • Manages patient flow and assures the appropriate and timely functions in coordination with ancillary departments.
  • Assesses the patient's condition and nursing needs; sets goals and establishes appropriate actions to meet those goals.
  • Provides case management functions
  • Provides concurrent documentation care in the electronic medical record.
  • Provides guidance and development of skills for staff.
  • Knowledge of utilization of advanced modalities in the field of wound care
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Strong leadership and team building skills.
  • Ability to adapt to changing patient flow schedules, to communicate and work closely with physicians and to function in an outpatient environment

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Associate's degree in Nursing.
  • Minimum 2 years of nursing experience in wound care/treatment environment utilizing advanced modalities
  • Minimum 2 years of nursing leadership experience in an outpatient environment.


LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION OR REGISTRATION REQUIRED:

  • State issued license as Registered Nurse.
  • BLS issued from American Heart Association
  • ACLS

REQUIRED COMPETENCIES

  • Procedure driven
  • Provides patient care in a safe, appropriate and timely manner.
  • Performs initial assessments for all new patients.
  • Provides efficient and appropriate case management in a timely manner.
  • Remains current with all appropriate licensures and certifications.
