8th Grade Girls Basketball Coach

We are currently seeking qualified candidates for a 8th grade girls basketball coaching position; This position will preferably be tied to an existing or open teaching position.  Also, this position entails coaching the elementary girls basketball program during the fall season. Reports To: The JH Girls Basketball Coach reports directly to the Athletic Director, while working under the authority of the JH/HS Principal and District Superintendent.

Qualifications: Previous coaching experience preferred Basketball experience is preferable.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Able to promote the district mission and a positive image to students, staff, parents, and the public Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with students, staff and parents. Ability to collaborate and work as a team with other staff within the building and district Background in basketball and/or sports related areas Takes initiative, detail-oriented and is highly organized Promote positive relationships among team members Essential Duties: Responsible for maintaining and utilizing student instruction to assist in the upkeep, supervision, and efficient operation of the basketball program Responsible for the supervision and safety of students.  Develops reasonable rules of team behavior and procedures, and maintains order of the team in a fair and just manner. Serve as the district liaison in public relations and communication relating to the junior high and elementary basketball program Promotes basketball educational opportunities with students, parents, and community Perform such other tasks and assumes such other responsibility as assigned by supervisors.
