Job Description

General Purpose:

Transport residents to and from appointments utilizing company vehicles.

 

Essential Job Functions

This facility expects their employees to promote an atmosphere of teamwork with other employees and hospitality and comfort for its residents.  Therefore, the following list of duties is not all-inclusive:

 

  • Transport residents to and from appointments, admissions, or home after discharge.

  • Understand vehicle operation and safety.

  • Transfer resident to and from vehicle for appointments.

  • Understand and be proficient in how to properly secure the resident in the vehicle for safe transport. (Operation of lift system, wheelchair lock, safety belts.)

  • Assist residents with any non-emergent care needs during transport.

  • Maintain a safe driving record.

  • Maintain appearance and cleanliness of vehicles.

  • Maintain fleet documents as needed.

  • Fuel van as needed.

  • May need to assist in scheduling transport if needed.

  • Attend in-service education programs in order to meet facility educational requirements.

  • Be familiar with Standard Precautions, Exposure Control Plan, Fire Drill & Evacuation Procedures and know how to use the information.

  • Maintain confidentiality of resident and facility records/information.

  • Protect residents from neglect, mistreatment, and abuse.

  • Protect the personal property of the residents of the facility.

  • Others as directed by the supervisor or administrator.

 

Minimum Qualifications

  • Must have a valid TN drivers license and clean driving record.

  • TDOT Physical

  • Class F Endorsement Driver's License

  • Prior driving and transport experience is preferred.

  • Organized and detailed work performance.

  • Excellent technical and documentation skills

  • Good communication skills with excellent self-discipline and patience.

  • Genuine caring for and interest in elderly and disabled people in a nursing facility.

  • Comply with the Residents' Rights and Facility Policies and Procedures.

  • Perform work tasks within the physical demand requirements as outlined below.

  • Perform Essential Duties as outlined above.
