Seattle Roots Community Health is a not-for-profit organization that operates two primary care clinics, an After-Hours Clinic, two School-Based Health Centers, a low barrier Medication-assisted treatment clinic and a Dental Clinic. Our Carolyn Downs Family Medical Center was founded in 1970 in Seattle's Central District. Our Country Doctor Community Clinic was established in 1971 by residents of the Capitol Hill neighborhood.

Job Summary
The facilities Coordinator supports daily facilities operations for the community health center with a focus on HVAC engineering, building systems maintenance, and facility vendor coordination. This role ensures the center’s physical environment is safe, compliant, and functioning efficiently to support patient care and staff workflow.
Job Responsibilities
Facilities Operations & Technical Maintenance
- Perform routine and preventive maintenance on HVAC systems, including troubleshooting, diagnosing issues, replacing components, and coordinating major service needs with contractors.
- Support maintenance of electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and life-safety systems.
- Coordinate and document facility work orders, maintenance logs, and equipment records.
- Conduct regular facility inspections to identify safety hazards, repair needs, and environmental issues.
Safety, Compliance & Risk Management
- Ensure facilities meet applicable OSHA, ADA, fire code, and health department standards.
- Participate in emergency preparedness activities, including drills and facility response protocols.
- Support regulatory inspections and assist with corrective action implementation.
Vendor & Contract Coordination
- Coordinate work performed by HVAC, mechanical, custodial, landscaping, and repair vendors.
- Obtain quotes, schedule services, and track vendor performance.
- Ensure all contracted work meets safety, quality, and compliance requirements.
Facility Support & Operational Logistics
- Assist with space planning, furniture assembly, signage updates, and equipment setup.
- Support clinic expansion, renovations, and minor construction activities.
- Coordinate staff moves and facility-related logistics.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of facilities, building maintenance, or HVAC technician experience.
- Demonstrated experience installing, repairing, and maintaining HVAC systems.
- Strong understanding of building mechanical systems and preventive maintenance.
- Ability to read technical manuals, schematics, and equipment specifications.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
Education and Training?
- HVAC certification or technical training.
- Experience working in a healthcare or highly regulated environment.
- Familiarity with computerized maintenance management systems.
Discalimer
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks such as climbing ladders and moving equipment.
- Occasional after-hours on-call work, as needed.
- This position requires mobility between our different locations, which means a reliable form of transportation is necessary.
