Door Host / Entry Attendant



Position Summary
The Door Host is the first and last impression of the Hit Parader. This role is responsible for welcoming guests, checking identification, maintaining orderly entry, and ensuring a safe and controlled flow of traffic from the street into the establishment. This position includes minimal security duties focused on presence, awareness, and proactive guest management.


Key Responsibilities

  • Greet guests in a professional, confident, and welcoming manner
  • Verify valid government-issued IDs in compliance with Tennessee alcohol laws
  • Maintain organized lines and control the flow of traffic from sidewalk to entry
  • Monitor capacity limits and coordinate with management regarding guest volume
  • Communicate wait times clearly and manage guest expectations
  • Observe guest behavior and alert management to potential issues
  • Support staff with maintaining a safe and respectful environment
  • Enforce house policies consistently and calmly
  • Assist with crowd management during peak hours and special events



Minimal Security Responsibilities

  • Maintain visible presence at the entrance to deter issues
  • Monitor for intoxication before allowing entry
  • De-escalate minor guest conflicts using professional communication
  • Contact management or security if escalation is required
  • Ensure no outside beverages, prohibited items, or weapons enter the venue


Qualifications

  • Must be 21+
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure
  • Professional appearance and demeanor
  • Weekend and late-night availability required
  • Previous hospitality, nightlife, or customer-facing experience preferred
  • Tennessee alcohol awareness certification preferred



Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand for extended periods
  • Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions
  • Ability to manage moderate crowds during peak hours



Work Environment

Fast-paced nightlife environment in downtown Nashville. Evenings, weekends, and holiday shifts required.
