    Teacher -JROTC Instructor

    PRIMARY FUNCTION:  The job of Teacher JROTC was established for the
    purpose/s of facilitating student success in academic and interpersonal skills
    through JROTC and District approved curriculum, documenting teaching and
    student progress/activities/outcomes; addressing specific needs of students;
    providing a safe and optimal learning environment; and providing feedback to
    students, parents and administration regarding student progress, expectations,
    goals, etc.; provides leadership and coordination within a particular curriculum and
    serves as part of the leadership team in coordinating the instructional program of
    the school.  Outcome is to inspire and equip all students to achieve their unlimited
    potential.


    This position will be a 11-month employee, and compensation will be calculated as
    such using the JROTC Minimum Instructor Pay Formula (MIP) for 11-months
    JROTC Instructors in the DISTRICT.


      This posting is to recruit for existing vacancies available for the 2026-2027
    School Year. 


     REQUIREMENTS:  
    1. Educational Level: Bachelor Degree or higher 

    2. Certification/License:

    Must be certified by US Army Cadet Command
    with a Pre-qualification Memorandum; must pass
    the GACE Fundamentals of the Science of
    Reading/Literacy Assessment for Georgia educator
    certification within the first three years of
    employment with the Chattahoochee County
    School District; DD214

    3. Experience/Eligibility:

    Must have a minimum 10 years of service or
    retired in the grades 03 through 06 or W01
    through CW5 with no more than five (5) years of
    separation time from date of certificate memo;
    must have been discharged under honorable
    conditions.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

    1. Demonstrates prompt and regular attendance.
    2. Serves as JROTC Department Head.
    3. Plans, prepares, and executes a comprehensive strategy for the annual JROTC
    Program of Accreditation (JPA).
    4. Adapts classroom work for the purpose of providing students with instructional
    materials that address individualized learning plans within established lesson
    plans.
    5. Inspire and equip all students to achieve their unlimited potential.
    6. Expose JROTC cadets to a variety post high school educational and career
    opportunities.
    7. Utilize personalized learning strategies to meet the needs of students.
    8. Analyze data to design, implement, and evaluate learning.
    9. Develop a positive learning and team building classroom environment
    10. Administers developmental testing programs, subject specific assessments, etc
    for the purpose of assessing student competency levels and/or developing
    individual learning plans.
    11. Advises parents and/or legal guardians of student progress for the purpose of
    communicating expectations; student's achievements; developing methods for
    improvement and/or reinforcing classroom goals in the home environment.
    12. Collaborates with instructional staff, other school personnel, stakeholders,
    parents and a variety of community resources for the purpose of improving the
    overall quality of student outcomes, achieving established classroom objectives
    in support of the school improvement plan.
    13. Communicates with teachers, parents implementing objectives for the purpose of
    assisting in evaluating progress and/or implementing objectives.
    14. Coordinates a variety of activities (e.g. field trips, rifle competition, drill
    competition) for the purpose of ensuring the availability of equipment, materials
    and personnel to achieve objectives.
    15. Supervises, counsels and evaluates the Army Instructors (AIs) in the execution of
    their responsibilities.

    16. Counsels students for the purpose of improving performance, health status,
    problem solving techniques and a variety of personal issues.
    17. Implements JROTC curriculum for the purpose of meeting JROTC, DISTRICT
    objectives.
    18. Responsible for overseeing/managing co-curricular activities.
    19. Instructs Let 1, Let 2, Let 3 and Let 4 students for the purpose of improving their
    success in academic, interpersonal and daily living skills through a defined
    JROTC course of study.
    20. Maintains classroom equipment, supplies, work aids, etc. for the purpose of
    ensuring the availability of items as may be required.
    21. Models leadership and listening skills, etc. for the purpose of demonstrating
    appropriate social and interpersonal behavior.
    22. Monitors JROTC students in a variety of educational environment (e.g.
    classroom, field trips, training drills, off campus activities) for the purpose of a
    positive learning environment.
    23. Prepares a variety of written materials (e.g. grades, attendance, anecdotal
    records, etc.) for the purpose of documenting student progress and meeting
    mandated requirements.
    24. Provides instruction for the purpose of meeting JROTC requirements.
    25. Reports incidents (e.g. fights, suspected child abuse, suspected substance
    abuse, etc.) for the purpose of maintaining personal safety of students to include
    enforcing DISTRICT Education Code and school policies.
    26. Submits required reports, as necessary, and in accordance with the required
    reports listing for the school district and Cadet Command.

    27. Responds to questions from a variety of sources (e.g. other teachers, parents,
    administrators, etc.) for the purpose of resolving issues, providing information
    and/or direction.
    28. Trains JROTC students for the purpose of becoming better citizens.
    29. Participates in a variety of meetings for the purpose of conveying and/or
    gathering information required to perform functions.
    30. Performs other related duties, as assigned, by the DAI, U.S. Army certification for
    the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit.
