We are looking for an experienced Commissioning Engineer (m/f/d), based in Germany, to lead on-site commissioning activities for industrial water treatment plants across the EMEA region. You will ensure systems are installed, tested, optimized, and handed over in full compliance with contractual, performance, and safety requirements.

Job requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Process, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering (or equivalent technical qualification)
  • Strong knowledge of water treatment processes (filtration, RO/NF, ion exchange, biological treatment, disinfection)
  • Experience with P&IDs, cause & effect matrices, and technical documentation
  • Hands-on troubleshooting mindset
  • Basic knowledge of NavisWorks, MS Project or Primavera
  • Strong coordination, supplier management, and communication skills
  • Language skills: English fluent; Italian and/or German are a plus
  • Willingness to travel across the EMEA region

Job responsibilities

  • Plan and execute on-site commissioning activities in coordination with the E&IC subcontractor and PLC engineer
  • Supervise subcontractors and ensure safe, high-quality, and timely execution
  • Conduct functional testing of mechanical and electrical equipment (pumps, valves, membranes, dosing systems, UV, ozone, RO, PLC panels, instrumentation)
  • Survey I/O checks, interlock and alarm testing and perform hydraulic tests, and process commissioning
  • Execute performance testing against KPIs and support final plant handover
  • Ensure compliance with HSE standards and contractual guarantees
