JOB DESCRIPTION
Position: Chef Manager
Reports to:
FLSA Status: Exempt
Position Summary:
This is a full-time on-site role for a Chef Manager located in Stillwater, OK. The Chef Manager will oversee daily kitchen operations, including food preparation, cooking, and ensuring food quality, inventory, recipe development and purchasing. Responsibilities also include managing the culinary team, creating menus, and ensuring compliance with food and beverage safety standards. The Chef Manager will collaborate with management to ensure cost efficiency and customer satisfaction.
Essential Duties:
- Plan, prepare, and execute high-quality meals in alignment with company standards.
- Develop, update, and cost menus to balance creativity, customer preferences, and profitability.
- Supervise, train, and schedule kitchen staff, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
- Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and sanitation regulations.
- Manage food inventory, purchasing, and vendor relationships to maintain cost controls.
- Monitor portion control, waste reduction, and proper food storage practices.
- Collaborate with front-of-house management to ensure seamless service.
- Conduct regular kitchen inspections and maintain equipment in safe working order.
- Lead by example in maintaining a professional, respectful, and team-oriented culture.
- Handle administrative duties, including scheduling, payroll input, and reporting as required.
Education and Experience:
- Proven experience as a Chef, Sous Chef, or Kitchen Manager (Min 5 years).
- Degree or certification in Culinary Arts or related field preferred, but not required.
- Expertise in Food Preparation, Cooking, and Food Quality.
- Certified in food safety and sanitation standards.
- Experience in Culinary Management and Food & Beverage.
- Degree or certification in culinary arts or related field would be preferred, but not required.
