Summary:
POSITION OVERVIEW
Provide the Judiciary with courtroom security, process service of court documents, and clerical administrative support work as the Bailiff/Process Server.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION:
1. High school diploma or equivalent.
ESSENTIAL:
1. Possess ability to undertake and complete courtroom security training.
2. Must be able to pass a comprehensive background check. No felony convictions, no current open criminal cases or civil matters that would reflect negatively on the Judiciary Branch.
3. Valid driver’s license, dependable transportation and proper insurance is required.
4. Must be trained and able to conduct procedures for building entrance, operation of court building surveillance system, and to maintain a safe and secure environment of court building specific to client and public interaction.
5. Must be physically fit according to accepted standards of Wisconsin.
6. Must pass physical ability test, both pre-employment and annually per accepted standards of Wisconsin.
7. Reliability and ability to work without continuous supervision are essential; consequences of errors could result in serious harm to the interests of persons appearing before the Court.
EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum of three (3) years of working with corrections of law enforcement or bailiff experience preferred.
- Familiarity with courtroom procedures helpful.
- Understanding of language, customs, traditions and values of the Ho-Chunk Nation.
