    PAY RANGE:  $31.00 - $45.00/Hour, Based on Experience

    Civil Service Title(s):  Occupational Therapist (Competitive)

    JOB DESCRIPTION:
    Evaluate, plan, and provide general occupational therapy in multiple service locations to enable students to profit from the Special Education program.

     

    TYPICAL DUTIES

     
    1. Evaluate the degree of function and disability of students. 
    2. Develop a written prescription to be incorporated into the Individualized Educational Plan (IEP) for each student to receive therapy services. 
    3. Provide occupational therapy services in accordance with the written prescription in the IEP. 
    4. Develop and apply adaptive assistance devices and/or self-help techniques to achieve maximum independence. 
    5. Participate in Comprehensive Support Service Team staffings. 
    6. Participate in parent and teacher conferences. 
    7. Prepare and maintain appropriate records. 
    8. Establish and maintain communications with physicians and community agencies working with the students 
    9. Perform such other professionally related duties as may be required by the Administration.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    Must possess or meet requirements for Civil Service title of Occupational Therapist.  Licensed and currently registered by the NYS Education Department as an Occupational Therapist.
