Job Description

SUMMARY

The Intern Designer supports the CEO/Principal Designer, Lead Designer, and the Design Team in day-to-day design functions of Concetti. The Intern Designer assists with providing quality and intuitive designs to our clients, tailored to their needs, by supporting both design work and internal operations, through partnership with the Concetti team and under the direction of the assigned Lead and/or Senior Designer. The Intern Designer is creative, self-motivated, eager to learn, and interested in learning both the design and business components of the industry. The Intern Designer interacts with both a diverse clientele and internal team members. The Intern Designer receives hands-on training regarding design strategies and client management.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Design:

  • Assists CEO/Principal Designer, Lead Designer, and the Design Team with projects and daily tasks
  • Conduct field measures and verifies dimensions
  • Create any necessary construction/ detail drawings to document design solution
  • Attend client + job site meetings (assist with taking notes, pictures, on-site measuring)
  • Attend and observe furniture delivery and installations in person
  • Regular and routine onsite attendance
  • Maintain client folders including marketing materials
 

Design Team Support:

  • Assists with client photoshoots and accessory days as needed
  • Keep office clean & orderly 
  • Help to maintain Resource Library & accessory inventory
  • Help with procurement tasks as needed 
  • Organize samples/binders
  • Organize client files/samples/binders
  • Marketing tasks: under the direction of the Brand Ambassador and Marketing & Relationship Director, with a strong storytelling perspective, creates social media content and marketing collateral 

Other:

  • Works harmoniously and collaboratively with team members to accomplish agency objectives
  • All other duties as assigned
 

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS 

  • In Process of Bachelor’s Degree in Interior Design or Interior Architecture preferably from a CIDA accredited institution
 

SOFTWARE EXPERIENCE

  • Experience & proficiency working Google Suite (Docs, Sheets, Forms), Mac computers and devices, AutoCad, SketchUp, Photoshop, Canva, Chief Architect, Instagram, Facebook, Pinterest
 

KNOWLEDGE – DESIGN 

  • Knowledge of all aspects of Interior Design from inception to completion including:
    • Design and materials for residential and commercial projects
    • Elements & principles of design
    • Architectural selections, flooring, cabinets, tile, lighting, etc
    • FF& E selections, furniture, window treatments, area rugs, art and accessories 
    • Space planning methodology 
    • Conduct field measures 
    • Budget management
    • Creation of precision technical plans, drawings, and models
    • Design trends, material costs, building codes and ADA laws, building systems, and construction methods

ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS 

  • Ability to: Ascend or Descend – Ability to move on an incline or decline, Lifting at least thirty (30) pounds or more, Hearing, Standing, Walking, Reaching, Bending, Twisting, Grasping/Finger manipulation, Discerning colors, Visual acuity, Hand dexterity, Sitting
 

WORK ENVIRONMENT 

  • Indoor environments in a climate-controlled building
  • Standard office environment 
  • Infrequent exposure to dust, debris and loud noises related to construction zones

WORK ENVIRONMENT (IF REMOTE)

  • Must have high-speed internet access and access to quiet, well-kept space per Remote Work guidelines
