Job Description

JOB TITLE: Pollinator Field Technician
LOCATION: St. Paul
PAY RATE: 16.50
HOURS: 10 hr/week ~January 5 through May 31

 

Job Summary:

I am seeking an ecology field technician to help a study assessing the efficacy and impact of pollinator-friendly yards. This research is part of the National Science Foundation-supported Urban Long-Term Ecological Research program. The work will involve working as part of a team to conduct field sampling and identification of pollinators on urban yards and to complete other urban pollinator-related observations and experiments.
Prior field experience, especially regarding pollinators and pollinator identification, is preferred but not essential. The successful candidate will be trained in local pollinator identification. The position will be part time (~10hr/wk) from ~January 5 through May 31.

 

  • Strong work ethic and positive attitude
  • Ability to work outside in Minnesota summer conditions
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
  • Teamwork and good communication skills

Preferred qualifications:

  • Previous experience with field work or data collection
  • Previous experience with pollinator sampling

To be eligible for student employment, St. Thomas students must be degree seeking at the undergraduate, graduate and doctoral levels.
