There is a Strength and Conditioning Advisor position for Mansfield City Schools for the 2025-2026 school year.

Overview

The High School Strength and Conditioning Coach is responsible for developing and supervising safe, effective, and age-appropriate training programs that enhance athletic performance, reduce injury risk, and support the physical development of student-athletes. This position works collaboratively with coaches, athletic trainers, and school administrators to foster a positive, disciplined, and educational training environment. The terms and conditions of employment for this position are established by the organization.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Design and implement strength, speed, agility, and conditioning programs for all athletic teams
  
   
• Instruct student-athletes on proper lifting techniques, movement mechanics, and weight room safety
  
   
• Supervise all strength training sessions before, during, and after school
  
   
• Collaborate with sports coaches to align training programs with seasonal goals
  
   
• Emphasize injury prevention, mobility, flexibility, and recovery strategies
  
   
• Track athlete progress and modify programs as needed
  
   
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe weight room environment
  
   
• Educate athletes on basic principles of nutrition, hydration, and healthy lifestyle habits
  
   
• Enforce school policies, conduct standards, and safety procedures
  
   
• Serve as a mentor and positive role model for student-athletes
  
   

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Exercise Science, Kinesiology, Physical Education, or related field (preferred)
  
   
• National strength and conditioning certification (CSCS, SCCC, NASM, or equivalent preferred)
  
   
• Current CPR/AED and First Aid certification
  
   
• Experience working with high school or youth athletes preferred
  
   
• Strong communication, organization, and leadership skills
  
   
• Ability to work effectively with students, coaches, and school staff
  
   

Physical Requirements

• Ability to demonstrate exercises and proper lifting techniques
  
   
• Ability to lift and move equipment (50 or more pounds)
  
   
• Ability to stand and move for extended periods
  
   

Work Schedule

• Hours vary based on team needs, including before/after school and summer sessions
  
   
• Evenings or weekends will be expected
