Mansfield City Schools Additional Information: Show/Hide - Design and implement strength, speed, agility, and conditioning programs for all athletic teams
- Instruct student-athletes on proper lifting techniques, movement mechanics, and weight room safety
- Supervise all strength training sessions before, during, and after school
- Collaborate with sports coaches to align training programs with seasonal goals
- Emphasize injury prevention, mobility, flexibility, and recovery strategies
- Track athlete progress and modify programs as needed
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe weight room environment
- Educate athletes on basic principles of nutrition, hydration, and healthy lifestyle habits
- Enforce school policies, conduct standards, and safety procedures
- Serve as a mentor and positive role model for student-athletes
- Bachelor's degree in Exercise Science, Kinesiology, Physical Education, or related field (preferred)
- National strength and conditioning certification (CSCS, SCCC, NASM, or equivalent preferred)
- Current CPR/AED and First Aid certification
- Experience working with high school or youth athletes preferred
- Strong communication, organization, and leadership skills
- Ability to work effectively with students, coaches, and school staff
- Ability to demonstrate exercises and proper lifting techniques
- Ability to lift and move equipment (50 or more pounds)
- Ability to stand and move for extended periods
- Hours vary based on team needs, including before/after school and summer sessions
- Evenings or weekends will be expected

Overview
The High School Strength and Conditioning Coach is responsible for developing and supervising safe, effective, and age-appropriate training programs that enhance athletic performance, reduce injury risk, and support the physical development of student-athletes. This position works collaboratively with coaches, athletic trainers, and school administrators to foster a positive, disciplined, and educational training environment. The terms and conditions of employment for this position are established by the organization.
