Position Overview
The Vice President of Operations Quality is a strategic and operational leader responsible for ensuring consistent, compliant, and high-performing product quality across all global manufacturing sites. This leader will oversee plant quality, calibration, process validation, nonconforming material management and other key processes worldwide and drive harmonization of quality systems, standard work, and continuous improvement practices across all regions.
The VP will partner closely with Operations, Supply Chain, and Regional Quality leaders to ensure all products are manufactured to the highest standards of safety, efficacy, and regulatory compliance, while driving a culture of quality excellence and operational discipline.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute a unified global Operations Quality strategy, integrate best practices across sites, and contribute to executive decision-making,
- Drive standardized work, metrics, visual management, and proactive risk management to ensure consistent performance and continuous improvement across all plants,
- Ensure regulatory compliance, audit readiness, and continuous improvement of QMS processes with a focus on effectiveness and global harmonization,
- Collaborate with global supplier quality and global operations to implement improvements and corrective actions that enhance product quality and mitigate risks,
- Lead and develop a global Quality team, building a high-performing, accountable, and engaged culture focused on excellence and continuous improvement,
- Define, monitor, and act on KPIs and quality trends to drive sustainable improvement and ensure alignment with corporate objectives.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality, or related technical field required (an MBA or equivalent advanced degree is preferred),
- Minimum 15 years of progressive experience in Quality or Operations within the medical device, pharmaceutical, or regulated life sciences industry,
- Minimum 7 years of senior leadership experience managing multi-site or global quality operations organizations,
- Demonstrated experience with FDA 21 CFR 820, ISO 13485, and EU MDR compliance,
- Proven success leading lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives in an operations environment,
- Experience managing global teams across multiple regions and cultures.
