Group Tax Manager

Croda is a
FTSE100 organisation driven around our purpose of Smart Science to Improve
Lives™. With over 6,000 employees across 39 countries, we are focused on the
research and development of novel and highly sustainable raw materials for the
Life Sciences and Consumer Care sectors.

We are
passionate and excited about how we can develop and utilise new technologies to
shape and inspire changes within an ever-growing marketplace. As our business
looks to deliver its ambitious strategy of growth, we are looking for a Group
Tax Manager to join our team at Cowick on a temporary, fixed-term contract for
15 months, offering a hands-on opportunity to play a key role in the delivery
of core Group tax activities during a defined period of change.

You will be
responsible for delivering a robust operational tax governance framework
through the effective management of policies, processes, and controls, with a
practical and delivery-focused approach across key Group tax areas. You will
combine strong technical expertise with a practical, solutions-focused mindset
to ensure accurate tax outcomes and compliance with Group requirements. Working
closely with the UK Tax Manager, wider finance teams, and external advisors,
you will support the delivery of the Group Tax Strategy while ensuring value
for money.

Who We’re Looking For:

At Croda, we
believe our people are the heart of our success. We are committed to fostering
an environment where you can grow, make a meaningful impact, and thrive.

  • Strong technical tax knowledge with a practical, solution-oriented approach.
  • Experience operating in a complex, multi-jurisdictional environment, with an ability to prioritise delivery and execution in a practical, operational environment.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver high-quality outputs to fixed deadlines.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, supported by hands-on project and delivery experience.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, with advanced capabilities in Excel.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Demonstrates consistent honesty and integrity, with a clear and transparent approach.
  • Skilled in translating complex tax concepts into clear, accessible language for non-specialists, with strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills.

What You’ll Be Doing:

Be part of a
team that values diversity, sustainability, and continuous innovation, where
your ideas and contributions matter.

  • Execute key elements of the Group Tax Strategy, including the coordination of tax incentives, claims, and structural initiatives with advisor support.
  • Support the Group Tax Director in maintaining and enhancing tax controls and governance frameworks, embedding continuous improvement in tax policies and processes.
  • Monitor domestic and international tax legislation and reporting developments, assessing impacts on tax rate, cash tax, and disclosures, and escalating risks and implementation considerations.
  • Oversee transfer pricing compliance for intra-group services, including calculations, documentation, and coordination with advisors.
  • Lead Pillar 2 compliance activities, including country-by-country reporting, data collection, calculations, filings, and top-up taxes, working closely with advisors and internal finance teams.
  • Manage the Group’s tax provisioning process, including preparation, review, and financial statement disclosures, and liaise with external auditors.
  • Deliver multi-jurisdictional tax projects and workstreams, ensuring compliance, providing technical support, and managing tax authority interactions.
  • Drive improvements in tax processes and reporting, including tax payments, forecasting, and budgeting, while supporting finance stakeholders with practical tax input.
  • Provide oversight of VAT compliance and support payroll and HR teams on employment tax matters.
  • Support the implementation and optimisation of tax technology solutions from both operational and compliance perspectives.

This role
offers exposure to complex international tax matters, senior stakeholders, and
Group-wide projects within a FTSE 100 environment and is well suited to an
experienced tax professional seeking a hands-on Group role with real
responsibility and impact over a defined period.
