What You�ll Do

  • Provide direct physical therapy services under the direction of a licensed Physical Therapist and in accordance with the physician�s plan of care and state practice guidelines
  • Assist patients in relieving pain, restoring function, and achieving maximum performance
  • Guide patients through therapeutic exercises, gait training, transfer activities, and functional mobility tasks
  • Administer non-complex treatments such as therapeutic exercises, massage, traction, and physical modalities (heat, cold, electrical stimulation, etc.)
  • Instruct, motivate, and support patients in improving functional abilities
  • Observe and document patient progress and report findings to the supervising Physical Therapist
  • Assist with clinical documentation and ensure timely submission of notes and reports
  • Report changes in patient condition to the supervising Physical Therapist and Director of Nursing/Director of Therapy
  • Educate patients on the safe use of assistive devices such as wheelchairs, braces, crutches, canes, and prosthetics

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program (Associate�s degree in science or applied science) approved by the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA)
  • Current PTA license in the state of practice
  • At least one (1) year of experience as a PTA (preferred)
  • Current CPR certification
  • Ability to perform home visits and provide care in a home environment
  • Reliable transportation, valid driver�s license, and current automobile insurance
