Under direct supervision, implements and supervises recreational programs, ensuring compliance with all County policies, procedures, and safety regulations at all times.

Position Duties
The following statements describe the principal functions of this job and its scope of responsibility but shall not be considered an all-inclusive listing of work requirements. Individuals may perform other duties as assigned, including working in other functional areas to cover absences or relief, to equalize peak work periods, or otherwise to balance the workload.
- Lead, direct and assist children (ages 6-13) in group activities, educational programs, arts and crafts, individual and team sports, swimming, off-site field trips, games, and special events.
- This position requires operation of a passenger van to transport campers for field trips.
- This position will act as a positive role model, ensuring safe, diverse, and fun activities with children in a day camp environment; will safely participate in all activities on a daily basis, encouraging camper participation.
- Acts as the information source for parents and addresses complaints and concerns.
- Performs other reasonable related duties as assigned by immediate supervisor or other management personnel.
Emergency Response
County employees are required to report for work during a state of emergency and are subject to recall around the clock for emergency response operations which may include duties other than those specified in this job description.
Minimum Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
- Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of an acceptable equivalency diploma.
- Two (2) years experience in a leisure-related field and experience in supervising, planning and directing organized activities.
- Prior camp experience preferred.
Licenses, Certifications or Registrations
- Valid CPR and First-Aid certification (required to obtain).
- Must possess and maintain a valid Florida Driver’s License with a good driving record as defined by current insurance carrier.
A combination of education, training and experience may be substituted at the County's discretion.
Required Competencies
- Good organizational skills and the ability to work independently.
Special Requirements
- Applicant(s) selected for this position must undergo a Level 2 background screening with satisfactory results as determined by HCSO. Candidate must pass pre-employment physical and drug-screening.

Salary: $16.22
Salary Disclosure: Pay rates are based on education, skill, experience level and internal equity.
