Position Summary:
The Wingate University Online program seeks qualified adjunct instructors to teach online undergraduate human services courses. Adjunct faculty play a vital role in delivering high-quality, accessible education to a diverse student population and are expected to maintain the academic standards and professional conduct consistent with the University's mission.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Facilitate engaging, well-organized online courses in accordance with the course syllabus and Wingate Online guidelines
Maintain a visible, responsive presence in the learning management system (LMS), including timely feedback on assignments and regular communication with students
Post and adhere to grading turnaround times as established by the Office of Online Education
Hold virtual office hours or provide equivalent availability for student support
Uphold academic integrity policies and report violations as required
Participate in required faculty orientations, trainings,
Alignment with University mission, vision, and strategic roadmap
Other job duties/responsibilities may be assigned
Minimum Requirements:
Master's degree in human services, social work, or a closely related field required; a bachelor's degree with a minimum of five (5) years of relevant professional experience may be considered
Specialization in one or more of the following areas: [e.g., introduction to human services, human behavior, addictions in family systems, assessment and diagnosis of chemical dependency, treatment and intervention in alcohol and drug addiction]
Experience with online instruction and familiarity with LMS platforms (e.g., Canvas)
Prior teaching experience at the college level preferred
Demonstrated commitment to serving diverse student populations
