About Us

Bonton Associates is a civil engineering firm based in Louisiana with offices in Baton Rouge and Shreveport. We provide engineering, program management, and construction support services for public infrastructure and institutional clients across the state.


Position Overview
We are seeking a Construction Manager to support the Louisiana Division of Administration – Facility Planning & Control (FP&C) projects. This role functions in an owner’s representative capacity and is responsible for oversight, coordination, and support of construction activities across multiple projects. You will report directly to the DOA/FP&C Project Manager assigned to the respective region of the State, managing multiple concurrent projects across the area.



Key Responsibilities

  • Construction Oversight & Field Coordination
    • Monitor construction activities for compliance with plans, specifications, and contract requirements
    • Perform and document field observations and site visits
    • Identify and communicate issues impacting cost, schedule, or quality
    • Participate in construction meetings
  • Project Coordination & Communication
    • Coordinate between FP&C, designers, contractors, and stakeholders
    • Facilitate responses to RFIs and submittals
  • Contract & Document Management
    • Assist in initiating contracts and amendments
    • Review construction documents for completeness and constructability
    • Support change orders, pay applications, and contract modifications
    • Maintain project records and documentation
  • Schedule & Cost Monitoring
    • Review baseline schedules and track critical path
    • Monitor progress and identify delays
    • Support contractor performance evaluation
  • Project Closeout
    • Assist with closeout documentation and punch lists
    • Ensure compliance with FP&C requirements


Qualifications


Minimum

  • 5+ years of experience with a degree in engineering or construction management, or 10+ years without
  • Experience with public infrastructure construction
  • Knowledge of RFIs, submittals, change orders, and scheduling
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office


  • Preferred
    • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or construction management
    • Experience with state or public agency programs
    • Experience with contract administration

Work Environment & Travel
This role is primarily based in the Shreveport area. Work is performed predominantly out in the field at active project job sites, with some time spent at the local FP&C office as needed. Because you will be managing multiple projects simultaneously, travel is required and will vary depending on project locations and phases. All project-related mileage is reimbursed in accordance with State rates.

• Salary Range: $85,000 – $115,000
