We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Instrument Flight Rules (IFR) pilot to provide comprehensive flight training and safety pilot services to a Visual Flight Rules (VFR) pilot aiming to obtain their Instrument Rating. The ideal candidate will be a Certified Flight Instrument Instructor (CFII) or an IFR pilot with extensive experience and a strong understanding of FAA regulations for instrument flight training. This role is crucial in developing a VFR pilot's proficiency in instrument flight procedures and ensuring their readiness for the FAA Instrument Rating practical test. Familiarity with Cirrus brand aircraft operations, specifically experience with Cirrus SR22T models, will be considered favorably
Requirements
Responsibilities:
Customized Instrument Flight Training:
Provide Instrument Rating training, specifically for the Cirrus SR22T, while strictly following the provided certified Cirrus Training Center SOPs for IFR transition training.
Provide in-depth ground instruction covering:
Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs) applicable to IFR flight operations.
Air traffic control (ATC) system and procedures for instrument flight.
IFR navigation and approaches using various navigation systems (e.g., VOR, GPS, ILS, RNAV).
Interpretation and use of IFR en-route and instrument approach procedure charts.
Procurement and use of aviation weather reports and forecasts, including recognition of critical weather situations and wind shear avoidance.
Safe and efficient operation of aircraft under instrument flight rules and conditions.
Aeronautical decision-making, judgment, and cockpit resource management (CRM).
Aircraft systems and instruments relevant to IFR operations.
Conduct comprehensive in-flight training, including:
Pre-flight preparation and procedures for IFR flights.
Receiving and complying with ATC clearances.
Proficient flight by reference to instruments, including unusual attitude recovery.
Accurate navigation using various systems and procedures (e.g., intercepting and tracking courses, holding procedures).
Execution of diverse instrument approach procedures (precision and non-precision), missed approaches, and circling approaches.
Emergency operations under instrument meteorological conditions (IMC).
Post-flight procedures and debriefings.
Safety Pilot Services:
Act as a qualified and current safety pilot during instrument flight conditions, maintaining vigilance to see and avoid other aircraft when the primary pilot is operating under a view-limiting device.
Provide real-time guidance and intervention as needed to ensure the safety of flight operations.
Possess appropriate category and class ratings for the aircraft being flown.
Maintain current medical certification.
Progress Monitoring and Evaluation:
Continuously assess the VFR pilot's progress, providing constructive feedback and identifying areas for improvement.
Conduct regular stage checks or progress reviews to ensure the pilot is meeting established standards.
Maintain accurate and detailed training records, including flight hours, maneuvers performed, and progress toward objectives.
Preparation for Practical Test:
Prepare the VFR pilot thoroughly for the FAA Instrument Rating knowledge and practical (oral and flight) tests.
Simulate practical test scenarios to build confidence and refine skills.
Provide endorsements for the practical test upon demonstration of proficiency and satisfaction of all FAA requirements.
Professionalism and Mentorship:
Serve as a professional role model, instilling a strong safety culture, adherence to regulations, and sound aviation judgment.
Communicate effectively and patiently, adapting teaching methods to the student's learning style.
Foster a positive and encouraging learning environment.
Qualifications:
FAA Certifications:
Must hold at least a Commercial Pilot Certificate with an Instrument Rating.
Highly Preferred: Certified Flight Instrument Instructor (CFII) rating.
Experience:
Significant experience as an IFR pilot, demonstrating proficiency in all aspects of instrument flight.
Prior experience instructing or mentoring other pilots is a strong advantage.
Comfortable in Cirrus aircrafts or Garmin Perspective Touch+
Knowledge & Skills:
Thorough knowledge of Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs) pertaining to IFR operations (Part 91, Part 61, and potentially Part 141).
Expertise in IFR flight planning, navigation, and emergency procedures.
Proficiency in utilizing various aircraft instruments and navigation systems.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and instructional skills.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Commitment to safety and adherence to best practices.

Interest in becoming a CSIP.

Working Conditions:
Will involve regular flight time in Cirrus SR22T G7 aircraft equipped with Garmin Perspective + for instrument flight.
Will require flexibility in scheduling to accommodate the student's availability,approximately 10 hours per week with a 6 month commitment.
