Job Description

Position Overview

The Director, Memory Care Programming is responsible for the implementation, consistency, and ongoing enhancement of Dial Senior Living’s memory care program, LiveMORE. This role serves as a director who partners closely with community teams to ensure high-quality, person-centered dementia care. The Director focuses on translating established memory care standards, tools, and training into daily practice, supporting team member capabilities, resident quality of life, and strong operational outcomes across communities.

Essential Job Responsibilities

  • Oversee the day-to-day implementation and ongoing refinement of Dial’s LiveMORE memory care program across communities.
  • Ensure consistent application of memory care standards, tools, and practices in alignment with organizational expectations.
  • Serve as a subject-matter resource for community leaders on memory care programming and services.
  • Deliver and support LiveMORE training programs for team members and community leadership, supporting both initial and continued training. 
  • Collaborate with People and Culture department to maintain dementia-specific training content related to communication, behavior support, engagement, and person-centered care.
  • Evaluate training effectiveness through observation, community feedback, and outcomes, and recommend improvements as needed.
  • Support communities in offering family education and support opportunities related to dementia progression, care approaches, and partnership in care.
  • Assist communities in managing complex behaviors using established frameworks and best practices.
  • Collaborate with clinical leadership to ensure memory care services align with health, safety, and regulatory requirements.
  • Participate in quality assurance initiatives and support performance improvement efforts related to memory care.
  • Maintain and update standardized LiveMORE resources such as assessments, engagement tools, care planning guides, and family education materials.
  • Ensure resources are practical, easy to use, and adaptable to varying community needs.
  • Work closely with various Dial department teams to support effective memory care delivery.
  • Provide program-related input to support memory care positioning and consistency.
  • Support and ensure smooth transition for new community openings, transitions, and memory care program rollouts. 
  • Clearly demonstrate Dial mission, vision and values in all interactions, providing leadership in all areas of culture throughout the portfolio. 
  • Demonstrate sound judgment and creative problem solving where necessary.
  • Maintain confidentiality of verbal and written information pertaining to residents, team members, and community operations, both within a community and between communities. 
  • Other duties as assigned

 Education, Experience and Other Requirements 

  • Bachelor’s degree in social work, gerontology, nursing, or related field 
  • 5-7 years experience in senior living, memory care, dementia care, or related healthcare environment
  • Experience supporting or implementing training programs and standardized practices across multiple locations. 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required

  • Promote teamwork in providing services to residents.
  • Strong knowledge of dementia, Alzheimer’s disease, and person-centered memory care
  • Ability to coach, influence, and support team members
  • Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills
  • Ability to efficiently problem solve in a fast paced environment
  • Proficient computer skills and willingness to learn systems used within the company
  • Ability to travel throughout the DSL portfolio

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in social work, gerontology, nursing, or related field
