Role summary:
The Lead Coach/Facilitator at the Northeast Professional Development Center (NEPDC) provides leadership in the delivery of coaching services and professional development initiatives for Early Childhood Education programs across the region. This role supports the implementation of high-quality coaching aligned with the Leadership Coaching Model and serves as a key liaison between NEPDC, regional programs, and statewide partners. The Lead Coach/Facilitator mentors coaching staff, leads professional learning opportunities, and collaborates with leadership to ensure alignment with the priorities of the Massachusetts Department of Early Education and Care (EEC).
Responsibilities (include but not limited to):
- Serve as the primary point of contact for coaching and consultation in the region, providing support to programs and educators while maintaining fidelity to the Leadership Coaching Mode;
- Mentor and train NEPDC coaches, fostering their professional growth and development;
- Research and develop professional development topics, creating drafts of trainings, presentations, and scripts;
- Design differentiated trainings customized for various Early Childhood Education programs.
- Support the development and facilitation of technical assistance through NEPDC, including facilitating Professional Learning Communities (PLCs) and Communities of Practice, coaching program leaders, and offering consultation.
- Implement systems for accurate and timely management and reporting of coaching program data (e.g., action plans, coaching logs) as required by EEC standards.
- Collaborate with the Director of Training to collect, review, and compile program data and assist in the preparation of monthly and quarterly reports required by the Massachusetts Department of Early Education and Care (EEC).
- Participate in and represent NEPDC in statewide meetings, coaching collaborative meetings, and other cross-regional initiatives to support alignment, information sharing, and continuous improvement across the EEC professional development system.
- Collaborate with other NEPDC staff to align training with technical assistance priorities identified through coaching and consultation.
- Facilitate Professional Learning Communities and affinity groups aimed at enhancing professional development opportunities.
- Stay current with advancements in adult education and instructional design tools, integrating new knowledge into coaching practices.
- Demonstrate expertise in anti-bias environments, curriculum, and practices, creating coaching opportunities that align with these goals.
- Provide recommendations and ideas for enhancing existing professional development initiatives and introducing new ones
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors.
