About the position





Work environment
The Alberta Law Enforcement Response Teams (ALERT) is a joint force operation targeting serious and organized crime. The ALERT teams work with people from multiple police agencies across Alberta, as well as full time RCMP employees. This Fort McMurray Administrative Operational Support Clerk position will report to a Public Service Supervisor, as well as taking direction and being tasked by the Unit Commander of the Regional Team. This role has various responsibilities which include providing support for all RCMP data software processes, helping to train and onboard new and seconded employees, asset management, and general office supply tracking and procurement.



Intent of the process

The intent of this process is to staff one (1) position on an indeterminate basis in Fort McMurray Alberta, and create a pool of qualified candidates. The pool of qualified candidates may be used to staff similar positions with various tenures (i.e. indeterminate, term, deployment, acting, assignment, and secondment) within the Royal Canadian Mounted Police.


















Conditions of employment

Reliability Status security clearance - RCMP Enhanced Reliability Status (ERS) security clearance. Those selected must meet and maintain the above condition of employment throughout their employment.NOTE: Successful candidates will require a valid RCMP security clearance prior to appointment and throughout the tenure of their employment. The process to obtain RCMP security clearance involves a security/reliability interview and a field investigation regarding matters of criminal activity which includes reference checks, verification of credit/financial status, education, employment, etc. As such, the process may take several weeks or months to complete.

Operational Requirements

Willing and able to work in a busy police environment, including exposure to unsettling and/or graphic material.Willingness and ability to travel for work and/or training purposes using various modes of transportation.Willingness and ability to work overtime, as required.
