Job description

The Electrical & Instrumentation/Control (E&I/C) Site Supervisor is responsible for overseeing day-to-day construction activities related to electrical, instrumentation, and control systems within a semiconductor facility project. This role ensures that installation works are carried out safely, according to drawings and specifications, and in line with the project schedule. The supervisor will coordinate with contractors, monitor progress, and support testing and commissioning activities of electrical and control systems including SCADA and FMCS.

Job requirements

· Technical Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Instrumentation & Control, or a related engineering field.

Experience Requirements

· Prior site supervision experience in semiconductor, pharmaceutical, data center, or high-tech construction projects is preferred.

· Solid understanding of construction sequencing, scheduling, and progress tracking.

· Familiar with SCADA systems, industrial networks, and facility control systems.

Technical Competencies

· Ability to interpret electrical and control system drawings.

· Knowledge of proper cable support installation, cable pulling practices, and electrical/instrumentation installation standards.

· Familiarity with commissioning processes for power distribution and control systems.

Soft Skills

· Strong communication skills and the ability to coordinate multiple contractors.

· Good problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to resolving site challenges.

· Strong safety mindset and attention to detail.

Additional Requirements

Job responsibilities

Site Supervision & Progress Monitoring

· Supervise daily construction activities for electrical and I&C systems on site.

· Track and report site progress, highlighting risks or delays.

· Recommend schedule improvements or work sequencing optimizations to ensure timely completion.

· Ensure that all site activities strictly follow safety procedures, quality standards, and project specifications.

Technical Understanding & Execution

· Read, interpret, and enforce compliance with:

  • Electrical drawings

  • Control system diagrams

  • Single line diagrams (SLD)

  • Loop diagrams and wiring schematics

  • Verify installation work against approved drawings and method statements.

Electrical Installation Management

· Plan and supervise installation of cable supports, cable trays, trunking, and conduits.

· Oversee cable pulling operations to ensure correct routing, segregation, identification, and workmanship.

· Ensure installations are performed safely, with high quality, and in compliance with industry and semiconductor facility standards.

Instrumentation & Control Works

· Supervise installation and termination of:

  • Distribution Boards (DB)

  • Motor Control Centers (MCC)

  • I/O panels

  • Field instruments and analyzers

· Support and assist with testing and commissioning activities such as loop checks, functional tests, and system verifications.

SCADA, Data Networks & FMCS Integration

· Coordinate installation and connection of data network cables and control communication systems.

· Assist in integrating SCADA and FMCS signals, ensuring proper connectivity and system interfacing.

· Work with IT, controls, and vendor teams to ensure smooth system integration.

Contractor Coordination & Quality Assurance

· Lead, guide, and coordinate contractors to meet workfront requirements and deadlines.

· Conduct routine inspections to verify workmanship quality and compliance.

· Ensure proper documentation, including installation checklists, red-line markups, and test reports.
