Strength Coach / Head of Performance – FC Dallas Performance Center

 

FC Dallas is seeking a qualified Strength Coach to support the physical development, performance, and durability of its athletes. This position is responsible for the design, implementation, and supervision of evidence-based strength and conditioning programs that align with FC Dallas’ high-performance model. The Strength Coach will work collaboratively with coaching, sports medicine, and performance staff to optimize athlete readiness, reduce injury risk, and support long-term development across all phases of the competitive season.

 

What you’ll do:

  • Design and deliver individualized and team-based strength and conditioning programs for in-season, off-season, and pre-season periods, utilizing current research and best practices.
  • Monitor athlete performance, workload, and progression through testing, data tracking, and ongoing evaluation.
  • Collaborate with sports medicine staff to support injury prevention strategies, rehabilitation programming, and return-to-play processes.
  • Conduct sport-specific needs analyses and adjust programming to meet positional, developmental, and performance demands.
  • Maintain a safe, professional, and high-performance training environment, including facility oversight, equipment management, and risk mitigation.
  • Establish and enforce performance center policies, safety standards, and athlete conduct expectations.
  • Contribute to athlete education through instruction, coaching, and mentorship.
  • Assist with departmental planning, budgeting, equipment procurement, and staff development initiatives as required.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology, Exercise Science, or a related field.
  • Nationally accredited strength and conditioning certification (e.g., CSCS or equivalent).
  • Current CPR, AED, and First Aid certifications.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of strength training techniques, performance programming, and athlete monitoring.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary performance team.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to demonstrate and coach exercises, monitor athletes during training, and lift/move equipment.
  • Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, primarily in indoor settings but also in outdoor training environments as requested.
