Construction Purchasing Manager – Lead Strategic Procurement for North Texas Residential & Retail Projects

Job Overview

The Opportunity

You will serve as a foundational leader, establishing a state-of-the-art procurement system to track material and service costs across North Texas. This role offers the autonomy to build a first-class purchasing team while directly impacting the company’s profitability and growth.

How You Will Make an Impact

  • Evaluate material and trades suppliers based on price, quality, and delivery speed to ensure project excellence.

  • Negotiate contracts with suppliers to drive timely delivery of quality products and establish clear remedies for service gaps.

  • Mitigate price fluctuations through strategic value engineering to maintain competitively priced homes and high specifications.

  • Monitor all materials and services for compliance with contract terms and safety regulations, implementing changes as necessary.

  • Maintain detailed records of procurement costs, delivery timelines, and inventories to ensure complete project transparency.

  • Develop and lead a team of purchasing agents and buyers to support the company’s expanding project portfolio.

  • Analyze financial reports and price proposals to create high-confidence pro-formas and overall construction budgets.

Required Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in construction, a related field, or equivalent professional experience.

  • Mandatory proficiency in Hyphen Solutions Brix, QuickBooks, and MS Office.

  • Proven experience in a leadership capacity within the construction industry.

  • Full fluency in English is required for this role.

Preferred Qualifications & Experience

  • Bilingual skills with fluency in Spanish are considered a significant plus.

  • Advanced experience in setting up complex tracking structures for large-scale residential builds.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage vendor relationships during volatile market conditions.
