Job Description

Responsible for calibration, repair, modification, setup, and functional operation of Automatic Test Equipment (ATE), Measurement and Test Equipment (MTE), and peripherals.  Includes reading and interpreting electronics/electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, and technical specifications which have been established by equipment manufacturers, engineers, or higher grade technicians.

This job is for you if:

  • Perform diagnostic evaluation, troubleshooting, and repair of malfunctioning equipment using electronics schematics or logic diagrams, mechanical drawings, sketches or verbal instructions, with assistance as required.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on wafer probers, testers and test equipment using procedures established in MOI’s, manufacturer’s service documents, or other service instructions, with assistance as required.
  • Perform modifications and/or upgrades to equipment as directed by supervision, Engineers, or higher level technicians.


Working Environment

Assignment Complexity

Work assignments are routine in nature; carry out detailed but involved written or oral instructions.

Accountability/Discretion  

Work is closely supervised by management and higher level technicians

Working Relationships 

Primarily works with own department

Supervision

Does not have management responsibilities

Working Conditions

Works in fab clean-room environment

Job Requirements

  • Familiarity with measurement and test equipment i.e; oscilloscopes, digital multimeters, frequency counters, volt/ohmmeters etc.  Good communication skills with ability to follow oral and written instructions.  Knowledge of safe and proper working techniques.
  • Associate of Science degree with an emphasis in electronics, or a combination of education and equivalent experience.
