We have a current opening for a Virtual Construction Modeler I for our Dallas, TX office.
The VC Modeler I is the first position in the Modeler series that makes up the Virtual Construction Department at Royal. This role is designed to operate within a training and learning environment, gaining foundational experience in virtual construction practices. The VC team is a key partner to project management and field leadership throughout the construction process. Using various modeling technologies and processes the VC team improves the project quality, cost, and schedule by coordinating with trade partners, reducing field conflicts, and ensuring accuracy for efficient installation in the field.
The Modeler I will work closely with senior level Modelers to support successful projects, develop their skillsets, and progress through the journey-level modeler career path.

Model & Sheet Production
- Consistently shows strong work ethic.

- Thoroughly understands the task to be performed and asks questions to clarify.

- Follows good drafting practice; creates neat and easy to read drawings.

Technical Skills
- Has familiarity with the technical skills required to perform the work in the following software: Revit, AutoCAD, Navisworks, Evolve Electrical, Bluebeam.
- Demonstrates strong desire to learn new techniques and software.
- Does not wait for others to show them how to use new software. Actively seeks out information freely available online or consults with peers who know
- how to use the software.
- Demonstrates a natural fluency with computers and software. Able to learn new programs quickly.
Trade Knowledge
- Familiar with reading plans, specs, submittals, and codes required to perform the work.
- Familiar with trade and construction knowledge required to perform the work.
- Demonstrates a strong desire to learn about the trade and construction materials and methods.
- Seeks out guidance from VC2s, Detailers, and Foremen for their trade knowledge or field experience.
- Reviews their own work for appropriate use of construction materials and methods.
Organization & Communication Skills
- Brings difficult issues forward to other team members for guidance. Clarifies needs to others.
- Follows directions, keeps good notes, sets daily and weekly goals for self.
- Keeps digital workspace neat and organized (ie. Organizes model browser, deletes unnecessary views and sheets).
