Custodial Park Attendant - Lakeview - West Valley

Custodial Park Attendant - Part Time

Schedule: Fri, Sat and Sun; 11am-5pm (winter season), 5:30am-11:30am (summer season)

Pay: $15.51/hour

Job Summary: Performs job duties required in the daily operations of Lakeview Lake, Lagoons, Meeker Mountain, Gazebos, Grounds, Parking Lots, Sports Courts, Mini Golf course, Boat dock, Fishing Pier and any other assigned areas. Assists the Corporation in meeting its standards by providing Outstanding Customer service while performing Facility Attendant duties and custodial services, maintenance and light repair work in the assigned areas.

Duties and Responsibilities (in no specific order)

  • Greeting all visitors, verifying valid membership and guest use, knowledge of rules, regulations and monitoring of all use and activities
  • Informs and educates Cardholders and guests regarding RCSC policies, rules, safety standards and sanitation requirements
  • Ability to understand and enforce policies, rules and regulations
  • Flexibility to work assigned shifts, fill in for co-workers, take extra shifts as needed
  • Ability to communicate in a friendly, non-confrontational way, when actions are outside of policy and change is required
  • Ability to enter usage numbers for park activities, check center announcements, use computer for Paylocity matters
  • Knowledge and ability to operate, maintain and use blowers, power washers, vacuums, rakes, shovels brooms, dust pans and any other apparatus and equipment used or needed in the assigned areas
  • Reads center announcements at least twice daily
  • Ability to aid and assist members and guests in their usage of apparatus and equipment
  • Taking the rescue boat to assess the shoreline of the lake for any problems or issues and remove any trash as needed and assessing operation and location of fountains in the Lake and Lagoons
  • Provides properly sized safety equipment (ie, life jackets, flotation devices) to Cardholders and Guests when signing out boats.
  • Opens/closes area of assignment depending on schedule, potentially including locking/unlocking perimeter gates, facilities, boats and turning on/off lights
  • Performs daily housekeeping and custodial duties of the building its facilities, restrooms, gazebos, equipment, furniture, the Lake, lagoons, dock, pier, grounds, parking lots, pathways/sidewalks sports courts, mini golf.
  • Washes down patios, pathways, all boats, dock and pier
  • Cleans restrooms, mop and or scrubs restroom floors restocks paper and soap supplies
  • Mops floors, vacuums carpets, washes windows, empties trash receptacles, and bags trash for proper disposal.
  • Set up apparatus, other equipment and issue supplies
  • Corrects and/or reports unsafe conditions and equipment to Assistant Center Leader and/or Center Leader.
  • Informs Assistant Center Leader and/or Center Leader of tasks or conditions that may require the expertise of Skilled Trades.
  • Assists in emergencies including placing 911 calls for emergency medical assistance.
  • Completes and submits Incident Report forms and other required forms or communications to Assistant Center Leader and/or Center Leader immediately.
  • Participate in mandatory safety training and prioritize safety in all areas and activities throughout the workday.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Must not have a fear of water or working around water.
  • One year of custodial and housekeeping experience preferred and/or One (1) year of in-person customer service; OR
  • Any equivalent combination of experience, education, and/or training which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position.
  • Must have basic computer knowledge and the ability to learn new skills
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers, members and their guests, while providing excellent customer service, teamwork and safety values

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Ability to start a boat motor manually (pulling)
  • Ability to drive/navigate a boat (with training)
  • Ability to swim and work in water
  • Ability to start and use the rescue boat for assisting a Cardholder or Guests having issues on any RCSC boat, paddle boats, kayaks, paddleboards or shoreline
  • Ability to understand and follow water safety procedures
  • Knowledge of procedures, materials, and equipment used in the cleaning and maintenance of buildings and facilities.
  • Skilled in operating powered equipment, such as pressure washers, blowers, vacuums, strippers, waxing equipment, and floor scrubbers.
  • Ability to establish and maintain communication, courteous and effective relations with the public and coworkers together with a willingness to operate as a member of a team
  • Exceptional customer service skills with ability to deal effectively with people; knowing when and where to direct them for problem resolution.
  • Ability to read, understand and follow written and verbal instructions regarding cleaning and equipment operation
  • Ability to read, write and understand any required reports and instructions including safety data sheets.
  • Ability to climb and work from ladders
  • Ability to lift and manipulate up to 35 pounds and to seek help and/or aid others with any object(s) over that weight.
