Job Description

Summary of Performance Expectations:

Primary responsibility is the performance of patient care, endoscopy procedure assistance, and clerical functions to assist the physicians and Endoscopy staff with daily duties of the Endoscopy Unit. Also responsible for endoscopic equipment and maintaining logs related to reprocessing of scopes and accessory equipment. Manages endoscopy specimen collection, labeling, and tracking documenting of pathology results. Works cooperatively as a team member to ensure efficient patient flow throughout the Endoscopy Unit.

 

Education & Credentials:

Required

High School diploma or equivalent. BCLS certification from the American Heart Association required within three months of employment date.

Preferred

 

Work Experience:

CNA, CMA, Surgical Technician certification preferred.

 

Required

No previous experience required. Given training and on-the-job experience, incumbent should be proficient in the basic aspects of the position within three months of employment date.

 

Preferred

One or more years of experience in a healthcare setting functioning in an area with clinical responsibilities using an Electronic Health Record system (EHR).
