Description

The
General Accountant is a member of the finance team, responsible for maintaining
the accuracy and integrity of financial records with a specialized focus on
asset and budget management. This role involves performing core accounting
functions while providing direct support to the Accounting Manager, including
data analysis, reporting, and process improvement initiatives. The ideal
candidate has strong technical skills and a proactive, detail-oriented approach
to support key financial decisions. 

Required Qualifications

Key Responsibilities

Accounting and Financial Reporting

  • Prepare
    and post accurate journal entries related to all accounting cycles,
    including asset acquisitions, depreciation, and disposal, and month-end
    procedures.
  • Prepare business activity reports and performance forecasts for management review.
  • Assist
    in the preparation of schedules and documents for internal and external
    audits. 

Asset Management


  • Maintain
    the fixed asset register, including tracking asset acquisitions,
    transfers, and disposals.
  • Calculate
    and record monthly depreciation and amortization expenses for all assets.
  • Reconcile
    and investigate variances between asset management systems and financial
    records, ensuring data integrity and accuracy.
  • Support
    periodic physical asset audits and reconciliations. 

Budget Management

  • Provide
    direct support for the annual budget and forecasting processes.
  • Support
    the budget changes and increase for the department.
  • Monitor
    income and expenses, comparing actuals to budgeted amounts, and provide
    detailed variance analysis to the manager.
  • Support scenario planning and sensitivity analysis to guide strategic decision-making.
  • Assist
    the manager in identifying cost-reduction opportunities and analyzing
    capital expenditure budgets. 

 Managerial Support

  • Assist
    the management with special projects, ad-hoc reports, and financial
    analysis as needed.
  • Collaborate
    with other departments to resolve complex accounting issues.    
  • Work
    closely with operations, procurement, and IT teams to align asset and
    budget strategies with organizational goals.

 Employment Type - Non-Exempt, Hourly Wage 

Compensation - The expected hiring range for this position is $54,363.95 - 80,186.82, depending on experience and qualifications.

Required Qualifications

Education and Experience: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field, with 3–5 years of experience in a general accounting role.

Additional Skills Needed:

  • Technical Skills: Proficiency with the SAP system and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel for financial modeling and analysis.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively report findings and collaborate with various teams.
  • Leadership Qualities: Ability to work independently and provide support and guidance to team members when needed.

Compensation - Hourly Wage , $54,363.95 - 80,186.82
