Job Description
Entity: Owensboro Health Regional Hospital | Department: Nuclear Medicine | Work Hours: 7a-330p | Weekend Requirements: N/A | 0.6 FTE

Job Summary:

Provides imaging, therapeutic, and patient care services at defined levels to patients.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Implements radiation protection and safety standards. Applies as low as reasonably achievable (ALARA) principle to minimize exposure to patients, self, and others.

  • Positions patients and selects anatomic and technical factors accurately.

  • Orders, prepares, administers, and disposes of radiopharmaceuticals according to established protocols.

  • Maintains a quality assurance program according to regulations established by the Nuclear Regulatory Commission.

Skills and Attributes:

  • Requires critical thinking skills and decisive judgment.

  • Works under direct supervision.

  • Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.

  • No experience required

Education

  • Diploma, Associate's degree or higher in Science or related field required upon hire

Licensure/Certification/Registration

  • CNMT - Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist required upon hire OR

  • RT(N) - Certified as a Registered Technologist in Nuclear Medicine Technology required upon hire AND

  • BLS - Certified as a Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider required within 90 days of employment in this position
