As Lutheran Services Carolinas continues to grow and expand its programs and services, our Finance team is also expanding to support this important work. The Staff Accountant position plays a key role in supporting the organization’s financial operations by ensuring accurate accounting, reporting, and compliance. This role contributes to strong fiscal stewardship while upholding Lutheran Services Carolinas’ mission, values, and commitment to serving individuals and communities with integrity and compassion.



The Staff Accountant is primarily responsible for general accounting duties for LSC affiliates and

related organizations.





Essential Functions:

1. Assists with general accounting activities to include but not limited to preparation and posting of journal entries, analyze account reconciliations; audit allocations to subsidiaries and programs, processing of month-end and year end closing tasks, etc.

2. Performs daily cash transactions including posting to general ledger.

3. Supports in generating, reviewing monthly financial statements.

4. Assists with audit schedules and roll-forward reports.

5. Analyzes and reports data as requested by management.

6. Participates in facilitating successful internal and external audits.

7. Manages ad hoc financial reporting requests and special projects as requested.

8. Assists with maintaining the integrity of the financial information systems and sub-ledgers and ensuring compliance with GAAP, company internal control policies and procedures and identify areas for improvement and consistency of the financial systems.

9. All other duties as assigned.
