Job Description

Job Summary:

The AWS Cloud Engineer – Level 2 is responsible for supporting and maintaining cloud-based infrastructure and services on the Amazon Web Services (AWS) platform. The role involves provisioning resources, managing workloads, implementing automation, and ensuring the performance, availability, and security of the cloud environment. This is a mid-level position that requires hands-on experience in cloud administration, scripting, and troubleshooting in production environments.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Deploy, configure, and maintain AWS infrastructure using best practices and Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) tools such as CloudFormation or Terraform.
  • Support day-to-day operational tasks including EC2 instance management, S3 lifecycle policies, IAM user/role configurations, VPC setup, and security group management.
  • Monitor cloud resources using AWS CloudWatch, CloudTrail, and third-party monitoring tools to ensure system availability and performance.
  • Assist with patch management, backup solutions, and cost optimization strategies.
  • Collaborate with development, security, and operations teams to support CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
  • Troubleshoot cloud infrastructure issues and resolve incidents in a timely manner.
  • Participate in cloud architecture reviews and provide input for improvements and automation opportunities.
  • Maintain documentation related to infrastructure, operations, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and industry best practices, including security and data protection standards.


Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • 2–4 years of experience working in AWS Cloud environments in a support or operations role.
  • Strong understanding of core AWS services: EC2, S3, VPC, IAM, RDS, CloudWatch, Lambda, etc.
  • Hands-on experience with Linux/Windows system administration in a cloud environment.
  • Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code tools (e.g., Terraform, AWS CloudFormation).
  • Familiarity with scripting (Bash, PowerShell, or Python).
  • Knowledge of networking concepts (subnets, VPN, DNS, firewalls, security groups).
  • Experience working with CI/CD tools and DevOps practices is a plus.
  • Exposure to container services (ECS, EKS, or Docker) is a plus.
  • AWS certification (e.g., AWS Certified SysOps Administrator – Associate or AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate) is preferred.
