CTE (CAREER & TECHNICAL EDUCATION) SUMMER STUDENT INTERN
PURPOSE
The CTE Summer Student Intern supports the Career & Technical Education Department with administrative, organizational, and program support tasks. This internship provides exposure to career pathways and workforce development while building workplace and professional skills. This is a temporary, hourly paid summer position.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES
The primary function of this position is to provide general administrative and office support to assist the CTE Department. Duties may include document preparation, data tracking, event planning and inventory support. Work is performed under the supervision of the CTE Director and/or designated staff in an office environment, following District processes and procedures.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Student Intern – CTE Responsibilities
· Assist with preparing documents and correspondence using established procedures;
· Support data entry, record keeping, and basic reporting tasks;
· Assist with organizing and maintaining files, records, and department materials;
· Help support purchasing processes including tracking orders and inventory (after training);
· Assist with answering phones and directing questions to appropriate staff;
· Support department staff with general office, administrative tasks, and event planning;
· Assist with tracking program data and maintaining accurate records;
· Participate in training sessions to build office and administrative skills;
· Perform all duties in accordance with District policies, safety guidelines, and workplace expectations;
· Complete other related tasks as assigned.

Knowledge of: Basic office procedures and computer applications; Data entry and file management systems;
Ability to: Work independently and as part of a team; Maintain accuracy and attention to detail; Communicate effectively; Manage multiple tasks; Demonstrate organization and reliability.
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE DEVELOPED
Basic office and administrative procedures; Use of computer software including Word, Excel, and data systems; Organization, record keeping, and file management; Customer service and professional communication skills;
Event planning and organization skills; Time management and task prioritization .
QUALIFICATIONS
Must be a current West Ada School District high school student; Must be at least 16 years of age by the start of summer employment.
ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL ABILITIES
Ability to operate computers and office equipment, and lift or move light materials.
