TITLE & SHIFT: Server - Miller Time Pub & Grill, Part Time. 16-24 hours per week.  All shifts will involve weekend and holiday shifts. Each week, schedules are arranged based on various customer events. This team generally works during every Husker Game.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Facilitate all transactions to ensure a positive guest experience; including the greeting of guests in a timely, friendly, and courteous manner and explains all specials, promotions, and specific Miller Time Pub and Grill features.
  • Take orders, recite selection of all call and premium brands as requested which requires memorization of all available drinks, beer, and taps.
  • Maintain cleanliness of Guest tables and assist with the bar area.
  • Input orders into the Point of Sale System creating a check for each Guest and associate to maintain accountability of all beverages served.
  • Maintain proper set-up and cleanliness of service station before, during, and after shift.
  • Replenish beverages as requested, frequently checking back with Guest to inquire about satisfaction.
  • Present the Guest with the check promptly, thanking them and inviting them to return in a friendly demeanor.
  • Perform general cleaning tasks, using standard cleaning products as assigned by your supervisor to adhere to health standards.
  • Must adhere to all State, Federal, and Corporate liquor regulations pertaining to serving alcoholic beverages to minors and intoxicated guests to ensure all laws are being followed.
  • Perform all other related duties and special projects as requested and/or assigned.

 

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  1. High school diploma or equivalent, plus 1 year of previous waiter/waitress experience in a bar & grill preferred.  
  2. Ability to obtain and maintain an active Lancaster County Food Handler and Responsible Beverage Service Training Certification as well as any additional training/ certification requirements per Marcus Hotels & Resorts, Marriott and Lancaster County.
  3. Must be able to work a varied schedule to include days, evenings, weekends, holidays, game days and the ability to work under pressure.
  4. Ability to effectively deal with guest and employee concerns in a friendly and positive manner.  This involves listening to the nature of concern, demonstrating empathy with the customer and providing positive and proactive solutions.
  5. Must have basic knowledge of food, beverage, and various alcoholic beverages and service levels for a high volume restaurant. Must have high level of knowledge for spirits and beer. Must be able to recite trendy liquors, create new drinks, and have a good understanding of wine, as well as promote a variety of menu items.
  6. Ability to transport trays weighing up to 40 lbs. through a crowded room on a continuous basis throughout shift. Carry multiple drinks at once, sufficient manual dexterity in hands in order to use a knife to make garnishes, pick up glassware and bottles, use a corkscrew, scoop ice, mix drinks, and reach overhead to retrieve stock.
  7. Basic English language writing and communication skills necessary for completion of requisitions, balance sheets, and vouchers and to communicate with guests and take orders.
  8. Must be detail-orientated, able to multi-task, produce high quality and accurate work as well as show professionalism in all facets of the workplace.
  9. Must be able to represent the company in a professional, well-groomed and courteous manner at all times. Ability to remain motivated during busy and slow periods within shift.
