Description

Production Planner – Injection Molding

Join a fast-paced manufacturing team where your ability to think ahead, adapt quickly, and solve problems keeps production moving. Key Responsibilities

  • Build and adjust daily production schedules across molding, assembly, and rework
  • Collaborate with Manufacturing, Customer Service, and Purchasing to resolve changes and constraints in real time
  • Analyze capacity, forecasts, and production data to improve efficiency and utilization
  • Develop alternate plans when disruptions occur (downtime, material shortages, capacity limits)
  • Ensure material availability and manage planning parameters (safety stock, minimums, order multiples)
  • Communicate clear production priorities, including occasional weekend schedules

A Day in the Life
You start your day reviewing overnight production and adjusting schedules based on machine performance and material availability. By mid-morning, you’re working with Customer Service to reprioritize urgent orders and coordinating with the floor to keep presses running. Throughout the day, you’re analyzing capacity, solving problems as they arise, and communicating clear priorities cross-functionally—ensuring customers get what they need, when they need it.

Requirements

  •  2–5 years of experience scheduling across multi-site production and assembly operations, with knowledge of demand planning 
  • Strong critical thinking skills with the ability to solve complex problems under tight timelines 
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills 
  • Proficiency in MS Office and ERP systems 
  • Proven ability to collaborate across cross-functional teams 
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail, able to prioritize and adapt in a fast-changing environment     


This position requires prolonged periods of sitting and working at a computer 98% of the time. You must be able to use hands and fingers to operate office equipment, including a keyboard, mouse, and telephone. Occasional standing, walking, bending, and reaching may be required. The ability to lift and carry up to 15 pounds is occasionally necessary. Specific vision abilities include close vision for computer work and reading written materials.
