About the Department

Pay for this position is $2,400.00 per 3-hour credit course per semester. Day/evening position available to instruct online beginning in the Fall 2026 semester. 

The permanent responsibility of a faculty member is to provide the most effective instruction possible in his/her discipline. Supervision is received from appropriate supervisor. The faculty member works to insure that his/her instruction is meeting the educational needs of students.

Minimum Qualifications

This position requires a minimum of a Master's Degree (in History or other discipline) and 18 graduate hours in History. This position requires credentials that meet minimum requirements for teaching at the post-secondary level set by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools, the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board, the Texas Education Agency, and accrediting agencies for individual programs. A criminal background check is required.
