    Assistant Coach
    JOB DESCRIPTION
    Department:  School Site
    Immediate Supervisor(s): Site AD & Building Principal
    Evaluated by:  Immediate Supervisor(s) in collaboration with Site Administration
    Salary:  District Scale, as approved on Extra Duty Pay Scale
    Job Objective:  To help students learn subject matter and skills that will contribute to
    their development as mature, able, and responsible men and women.
             
    Work Environment:  Duties and responsibilities associated with the position as related
    to sport specific needs.
     
    Length of Contract: Varies by Sport
    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
    1. Has a thorough knowledge of all the athletic policy approved by the Edmond
    Board.
    2. Has knowledge of existing system, state and league regulations, implements
    same consistently.
    3. Understands the proper administrative line of command and refers all requests
    or grievances through proper channels. Is aware of all
    public/staff/departmental meeting that require attendance.
    4. Provides training, rules and any other unique regulations of the sport to each
    athlete who is considered a participant.
    SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

    QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS.
    1. Employment as a teacher in the Edmond School District
    2. Substantial knowledge of the technical aspects of the sport
    EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
    Bachelor of Arts Degree in Education
     
    CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
    Valid Oklahoma Teaching Certificate, SDE and OSSAA Certification/Training
     
    LANGUAGE SKILLS
     N/A

    MATHEMATICAL SKILLS.
     N/A
    REASONING SKILLS:
    Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables.
     
    OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES.  Ability to establish and maintain effective working
    relationships with students, staff, and the community.  Demonstrate punctuality and
    good attendance.  Ability to perform duties with awareness of all district requirements
    and Board of Education policies.
     
    Knowledge of confidentiality laws, CPR, first aid.  Demonstrate caring and
    compassionate personality & patience.  Ability to make responsible judgments for
    students' safety.
      
    PHYSICAL DEMANDS 
    Excellent physical health required (lifting, climbing, crawling, restraining, transferring
    and positioning of students).
