Position: General Maintenance Worker

Location: Maui FEMA

                       

Summary: Performs general maintenance and repair of equipment and buildings requiring practical skill and knowledge (but not proficiency) in trades such as: painting, carpentry, plumbing, masonry, and electrical work.  Work involves a variety of the following duties: replacing electrical receptacles, wires, switches, fixtures, and motors; using plaster or compound to patch minor holes and cracks in walls and ceiling; repairing or replacing sinks, water coolers, and toilets; painting structures and equipment; repairing or replacing concrete floors, steps, and sidewalks; replacing damaged paneling and replacing broken window panes; and performing general maintenance on equipment.

 

Qualifications: Require basic knowledge & experience in construction trades (painting, carpentry, plumbing, masonry, and electric).

 

Education Required: High school diploma or equivalent, or equivalent work experience.

 

Duties & Responsibilities:

·         Respond to service calls within the allowable timeframe

·         Participation in Quality Control and Safety Program

·         Must adhere to the Lockout / Tagout Program

·         Perform daily checks on company provided vehicle

·         Accomplished work in compliance with government regulations and all building codes

·         Assists in identifying material requirements for work in government acceptable format

·         Operates general purpose vehicles

·         Under supervision, operate shop equipment, machinery, and power tools related to job tasks 

·         Accomplishes work utilizing safe work practices, procedures, and adherence to OSHA

·         Perform related duties as required

 

Special Knowledge / Skills Required:

·         Must possess valid State Driver’s License.
