Job Description

Director of Nursing

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Nursing to join our team at the Tulsa Center for Rehabilitation & Healthcare. As a Director of Nursing, you will be responsible for planning, organizing, developing, and directing the overall operations of the Nursing Service Department, ensuring the delivery of high-quality care to our residents. Responsibilities:

  • Plans, develops, organizes, implements, evaluates, and directs the overall operations of the Nursing Services department, ensuring compliance with current state and federal laws and regulations.

  • Interprets and communicates policies and procedures to nursing staff, monitors staff practices and implementation, and participates in daily or weekly management team meetings.

  • Evaluates work performance of all nursing personnel, implements discipline according to operational policies, and participates in the recruitment, hiring, and termination of nursing personnel.

  • Oversees nursing schedules to ensure resident needs, regulatory, and budget standards are met.

  • Conducts rounds to observe residents and ensure nursing needs are being met, and promotes teamwork, mutual respect, and effective communication.

  • Participates in all infection control programs, including the development and implementation of policies and procedures to prevent the development and transmission of disease and infection.

  • Assists in the preparation of inspection surveys, including staff in-services on survey processes, and participates in mock surveys as indicated.

  • Protects residents from abuse, neglect, and mistreatment, and reports any allegations of abuse or neglect to the Administrator and/or state agency.

Requirements:

  • A Nursing Degree from an accredited college or university.

  • At least three (3) years of experience as a supervisor in a hospital, nursing home, or other related health care facility.

  • Current unrestricted license as a Registered Nurse (RN) in practicing state.

  • Knowledgeable of nursing and medical practices and procedures, as well as laws, regulations, and guidelines pertaining to long-term care.

  • Current CPR certification.
